Morning Walk in Kundasang

This painting is inspired by a trip I took to Malaysia and depicts a scene from a small village road in the early morning. I went out for a walk one morning just to explore and see the village from different viewpoints, as this neighborhood is built among some hills and offers many views of the surrounding village (Kundasang) and mountain nearby (Mt. Kinabalu). I saw chickens running around and decided to add them into this painting as well. It was a quiet village and all the residents I ran into that morning were warm and welcoming.

I did a few smaller studies in preparation for this painting and I feel this painting best represents what I initially set out to convey.
