My Most Valuable Content from 2022

Art

One of my favorite paintings from last year. Plein air painting from Passu, Pakistan - just a couple hours drive from the Chinese border.

Hey there, how's it going?
Finally a new year, so I wanted to catch up with you again.

I wanted to share with you a lesson I learned from last year - and also share a short list of some of the most valuable content I created last year.

Lean Into Uncomfortable Situations

Have you ever been in a uncomfortable situation which was ultimately beneficial for you, but rather than staying - you left or backed out of the situation? And regretted it?

I’ve done this plenty of times in my life but one that sticks out to me this past year was while I was traveling in Pakistan.

There were a few situations where I wish I would’ve spent more time in that particular location exploring things but because I felt so out of place and uncomfortable - I left.

One day in Islamabad, I went to the Sunday Bazar (only takes place once a week). It was such a cool, outdoor market with everything you can imagine - clothes, fruits, vegetables, animals, etc.. (see image below).

I filmed a bit while I was there but I didn’t stay long. I ended up leaving after about 5 minutes maybe.

Looking back, I wish I would’ve explored more, filmed more, took photos, and maybe even talked with people there and asked them questions.

But being in such a different country and exploring alone, (my first time ever traveling this way) - I didn’t feel too confident doing something like this.

You will always regret NOT doing something, rather than actually doing it. Lesson learned but I'm sure it won't be the last time I learn it.
